OKTOBERFEST MÜNICH
The original and most famous Oktoberfest of them all was founded in 1810, although Autumn festivals in Germany, involving beer, food and dancing, date back hundreds of years. The Münich Oktoberfest calls itself the world's biggest public party, and thousands of sausages, pretzels and beer mugs are consumed between September 16 and October 3. The events are centered around several large tents put up by local breweries, and there are carnival rides and activities for the whole family. You know Autumn is here when Oktoberfest arrives.
OKTOBERFEST ZINZINNATI

The Alpine Village is in Torrence, California and is exactly what it says it is. But for Oktoberfest, this place really celebrates in style. The celebration is a solid month long. Lots of Oom-pah bands, food, beer and souvenirs.
OKTOBERFEST MOUNT ANGEL
Mount Angel is 20 miles from Salem, Oregon. This one has just about everything a good Oktoberfest should have, and their website opens up with a rollicking rendition of the Chicken Dance, too!
OKTOBERFEST HELEN
Helen, Georgia was one of those little quiet, going-nowhere little southern towns that just happened to be located in rolling, green land that resembled the Bavarian and Austrian countryside. Soon a tip, the entire town was remodled to resemble a Bavarian village, and today their annual Oktoberfest and December Kristkindlemarkt are major holiday destinations.
OKTOBERFEST ONTARIO
This one claims to be the largest Oktoberfest outside of Germany, and it takes place near Toronto at THIS location. Their German lager is reputedly some of the best beer on this side of the Atlantic.
OKTOBERFEST TULSA
The large German population of Tulsa, Ok made this site a natural for a large, exciting Oktoberfest celebration. They have beer-barrel races and a giant pretzel.
The chicken maze on the right is courtesy of the Tulsa Oktoberfest, so have fun with it and remember them.
These cute little dachshunds are certainly enjoying their Oktoberfest. One can't have too many dachshunds!
The piece of music you are listening to is one Mozart would enjoy, approve of--and may even have been familiar with. It is appropriately called:
"Mein Hut der Hat Drei Ecken" -- or, "My hat Has three Corners."
